Monadnock Responds to Packaging Market Needs

Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. announces its new suite of customized services and premium paper and board products for packaging.  Monadnock, the oldest continuously operating paper mill in America, has a long-standing reputation in the graphic arts and technical paper markets.  The company is highly regarded for its award-winning environmental commitment, manufacturing agility, customer service and high level of craftsmanship in premium uncoated papers.  Monadnock now offers brand owners a packaging material supplier that has a long, proven record of sustainability.

Leading brands such as Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Tiffany & Co., Liz Claiborne, Anne Klein, and Bloomingdales have relied on Monadnock for their most important communications collateral.  Today, specialty companies like these are turning to Monadnock to provide the required quality, shelf appeal and differentiation needed to succeed at the point of purchase and beyond.

Monadnock's broad portfolio of capabilities includes:

  • Wide range of performance fibers to meet the growing marketplace need for high quality environmental packaging -  including FSC-Certified Post Consumer Waste, recycled material, and various "tree-free" fibers;

  • Decorative and functional coatings for enhanced aesthetics and performance;

  • Strengthening agents such as latex polymer saturation as well as synthetic fibers for superior scoring and folding characteristics;

  • Security features and inclusions for in-board/on-board brand protection.

"The decision to enter this marketplace is in direct response to the needs expressed by our valued customers at some of the most recognizable brands in the world," says David Lunati, Director of Marketing. "They've long entrusted their promotional trade dress to our premium graphic arts papers and are now asking us to create specialty packaging solutions for them. Given our fine printing and technical expertise, Monadnock is perfectly positioned to meet their needs."

Founded in 1819, Monadnock has a long history of service to printers, converters, designers and brand owners as a supplier of custom-made, value-added paper.  The company has made significant investments to enhance its packaging expertise including the addition of dedicated packaging resources in sales and product development.

Monadnock and Sustainability

Nestled in the hills of New Hampshire, Monadnock has a long-standing history of environmental stewardship and sustainable manufacturing processes.  Monadnock papers are made using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified fibers. These include sustainably harvested pulps and post-consumer waste sources.  Monadnock was the first paper mill to operate water purification facilities long before federal regulation. The mill generates its own hydroelectric power on-site. Monadnock is an EPA Performance Track Program Member and is ISO 14001:2004 certified.  It has received numerous awards for its outstanding environmental commitment including the New Hampshire Governor's Award for Pollution Prevention.
